Precautionary principle (PP) is the ability to take precautionary measures often by policy makers when hazards are deemed uncertain. This term is often implemented when a product or process is disputed or resisted due to scientific evidence. In trade and legal disputes over GMOs, food, and novel science, decision-makers have enabled PP.
