« Back to Glossary Index

Supply management is the act of managing the supplies, resources, and structure of an organization’s operations.

In Canada, there are five types of agricultural products managed, they are dairy, meat production of chicken and turkey products, eggs (chicken eggs for consumption), and broiler hatching eggs. In these sectors, supply management “coordinates production and demand while controlling imports as a means of setting stable prices for both farmers and consumers.”
